Task 1

This is my Task one.I have to introduce my classmate Farrah.

For Task 1. I had to introduce my classmate, Farrah who is my good friend in our class. My friend videoed my presentation. I was excited before I started speaking, because this was the first time I have been videoed. I was a little shy when Farrah videoed me,and I was laughing when I was videoed. Then we could’t continue. So we changed the plan. I videoed myself. I looked at camera and to do introduction. After I saw the video on my ePortfolio, I felt comfortable and I wasn’t nervous on the video. Now I feel more confident to take my next video.

This task was very helpful for me because I'm going to University next year and my dream is to become a Top Chef in New Zealand. In the future, I will do lots of lectures. So I have to practice my pronunciation and my confidence when I am speaking.

This task could help me to practice these skills. I watched my video again, and notice some hesitation and I also noticed some grammar mistakes. I said' she like reading' instead of 'she likes reading.'Also my pronunciation was not very accurate, and I didn't talk many extra information about my friend because I was nervous. However I did seem quite confident and didn't nervous.(even though i did a little bit nervous.)

Overall, I think my introduction was ok, because it was my first time. Next time I will catch some main points and give more extra information. I want to show my confident, when I am videoed and I will speak more fluency without grammar mistakes. So I am going to focus on practicing the difficult verb tenses that I need before I am videoed.

  1. Hi Grace,

Well done on your first video presentation! You didn't seem nervous at all, although I know you were a little! The presentation was nice and clear and it is good that you have watched it back and noticed some of your mistakes so you can improve next time. In English, we say "she really likes watching...." rather than "very likes..." so you can practice this for another time.

I have made some suggestions for corrections on your reflective writing on the google doc, so please make necessary corrections when you have time.

    Well done!

    Frances
